While the Mac is a little more open than iOS - the only way to get third party apps onto your iPhone and iPad is to download them from the iOS App Store - there are still a lot of hoops to jump.

Also, you can use a special free utility Funter to find and operate hidden files and folders on Mac. In Finder, navigate to the location of the Terminal application which is: Applications > Utilities > Terminal. One of the quickest and easiest ways to open Terminal on Mac is with Spotlight Search.

CLI out of the question as I am spoiled.Alternatively, if you are too lazy to type the entire path name, you can also drag a folder (or pathname) onto the Terminal application icon. The HUNT continues, but I might have to "give up" and use Fusion because I am one of those lazy bastards that can do command line although I am also one of those "edit, save, button push, test, edit, save, button push, test" kind of guys. RMerlin firmware with Enterware-NG in case you are wondering. Someone will chirp – Why not use FTP? Well, I am transferring files to my router which does not have FTP and I do not plan on installing it on there.

Transmit is one of the better FTP clients on the Mac, yet it still does not support SCP/SSH. I've been doing some iPhone development, and could try taking on the project eventually, but probably not any time soon. I've considered building a Mac client like WinSCP, but it's a fairly huge endeavour. Did you try FireFtp? It's a plug-in for Firefox (that means it's cross-platform).įireFTP is an FTP client, not an SCP/SSH client.
